Envitia will support Kainos following the award of a major contract with the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Kainos has been appointed to deliver one of three Application, Development, Maintenance and Support (ADMS) Plus contracts, valued at up to £150 million each, further accelerating Defra’s transition to digital-first public services.

As a UK specialist partner within the Kainos delivery ecosystem, Envitia will support digital delivery and transformation across Defra and its arm’s length bodies, alongside TPXimpact. Envitia’s contribution will focus on solving complex data challenges through its expertise in data management and geospatial capability.

These capabilities are central to Defra’s strategy and critical to effective decision-making across programmes linked to climate, biodiversity, food systems and environmental management. By combining large-scale delivery capability with targeted specialist expertise, the partnership gives Defra access to the right skills at the right stage of delivery.

Under ADMS Plus, the delivery team will provide end-to-end support across the digital application lifecycle, including application development, live service support, transformation and modernisation. The contracts are designed to enable accelerated, AI-enabled delivery, helping Defra continue to modernise its services and technology estate.

Dom Eade, CEO of Envitia, said:

“We are pleased to be supporting Kainos on the ADMS Plus contract. This award recognises the strength of the Kainos proposition and reflects the role that specialist organisations like Envitia can play in extending delivery capability in critical areas. We look forward to contributing to the successful delivery of the programme alongside Kainos and its wider ecosystem.”

The ADMS Plus contracts support Defra’s broader digital and data strategy, which are focused on improving the use of data, modernising technology and enabling more efficient, user-focused services. Through its role in the delivery ecosystem, Envitia will help deliver resilient, data-led services that support long-term environmental and operational outcomes.
