Customer Challenge  

The enterprise topology model for this central government client was previously set up to support an on-premises application suite and mostly office-based users. As the organisation has moved to the cloud and adopted hybrid working, the lack of an up-to-date enterprise map was causing a wide variety of issues, including but not limited to: 

• Concerns over the resilience/business continuity and data lineage/governance 

• Challenges transforming to a data-led and digitally enabled organisation 

• Managing security and cost of ownership. 

Envitia Solution  

Envitia delivered an Enterprise Mapping Discovery & Alpha project relating to their information management, focusing on risk and migration strategies for a cloud based ‘To-Be’ architecture.  

At the start of the project, Envitia baselined the current quality of management deliverables and ascertained the level of capability in place to produce and maintain regulatory compliance.  

Working to an agreed ‘North Star’, Envitia worked with the client to develop a ‘To-Be’ understanding of business capability and enterprise assets. Envitia also looked at if there were changes required to the organisation operating model and the skills needed to reach the ‘To-Be’. 

Business Outcome 

On completion, the client will fully understand the value and challenges of the ‘As-Is’, and the cost/benefit analysis of getting to their agreed future state.  

Envitia’s actions gave the client evidence associated with the current and future states. The client was given a roadmap of enablement that allowed them to understand the operating model changes and skills/tools investments required to exploit this improved level.
