Unbiased Recruitment

Our adverts are constantly analysed to ensure the language used is inclusive and accessible. In addition to our unconscious bias training, all recruiting managers receive additional training in skills-based interviewing techniques.

We are increasing the type of job boards we are using, utilising those that specifically target under represented groups across gender, disability, sexuality, age and race.

Smart Data

We ask candidates to provide us with data which enables us to identify gaps in our talent pools and enable us to take proactive action to address them.

We use our DE&I data to drive our recruitment strategy, ensuring a fair and inclusive hiring process. Our People and Culture Team analyse this data to identify and eliminate biases, monitor diversity metrics, identify gaps in our talent pools and create targeted recruitment campaigns. By leveraging DE&I insights, we can attract a wide range of talent, foster an inclusive workplace culture, and ensure that our workforce reflects the diverse communities we serve.

Flexible Working

We support flexible working, ensuring that staff have the ability to have a working environment that enables them to achieve a work life balance that meets their needs.

Leadership Commitment

Our leadership team are committed to making Envitia an inclusive, open and forward-thinking company where every individual feels heard and valued and where talent can thrive and grow

Open Communication

We want our onboarding programme to set the standard for our employee experience on an ongoing basis. We have designed a comprehensive and highly supportive programme, including introductions to relevant policies and processes and dedicated welcome sessions with key stakeholders from the start. Our new hires also receive regular check-ins from across the business as well an assigned buddy who makes contact prior to the start date and checks in with them regularlyWe collect new starter feedback to continually evaluate and improve our practises and procedures. Our new starters consistently rate their onboarding experience as outstanding.

Focus on Mental Health & Wellbeing

We actively support the mental health of our employees through trained Mental Health First Aiders, our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and our regular mental health check in days, such as our ‘Tea and Talk’ events. We are currently devising a Wellbeing programme which will run activities through the year designed to ensure employees feel safe to talk about their mental health concerns and ensure the mental health and wellbeing of all our staff.

Open & Honest Culture

At Envitia, we actively seek feedback from everyone through regular 121s with line managers, monthly check-in calls, employee wellbeing surveys, a confidential feedback form, and Q&A sessions during our monthly CEO update meetings. We aim to create a culture where every person is heard and all points of view are actively encouraged and considered.

Value our Differences

At Envitia, we celebrate the richness of diversity in all its forms, recognising that our differences make us stronger. This includes actively supporting neurodiversity, which encompasses a wide range of ways our brains work and process information, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and beyond. We are committed to fostering an environment where neurodiverse individuals are recognised for their contributions and feel empowered to thrive.

We also offer resources to ensure that everyone can contribute their best work. Our office's multi-faith prayer and wellbeing room and recognition of religious and cultural holidays demonstrate our respect for different beliefs, while our commitment to inclusivity ensures that all employees, regardless of background or cognitive style, feel a sense of belonging.

On-going Development

Our career framework provides clear and structured pathways for developing careers within Envitia—both upwards and laterally across departments. Our regular reviews ensure employees' careers are on track, with each employee encouraged to have a minimum of one developmental objective at all times. We also provide core training for all employees across the company, including Unconscious Bias training, which is refreshed annually.

Gender Targets

We recognise that data has historically been male-dominated and we are committed to changing that. We actively encourage women and other underrepresented genders to consider data as a career. We do this through partnerships with local schools, colleges and industry events and we proactively promote the role of women in our industry.

As part of our commitment to the above, we have set ourselves a target of having 30% of our employees be women, which is higher than the average for companies of our size in our sector.

Community Links & Partnerships

In addition to supporting and benefiting our colleagues and clients, the Envitia team believes we have a collective responsibility to make a positive impact in our local community. We have recently supported local charities who are delivering real changes in environment, animal welfare, food poverty, mental health and supporting children with life threatening conditions

Inclusive & Forward Thinking Policies

We have designed comprehensive policies to support all employees. Recognising the importance of creating an inclusive environment, we address various needs, such as our Menopause and Fertility policies, comprehensive maternity and paternity leave, and other initiatives to support mental health and well-being.
