The Role
Our delivery portfolio of work is ever-changing, you can expect to work on a variety of projects across customers in the public sector and defence sector (e.g. Environment Agency, Ministry of Defence), to support business development activities, and to contribute to the development of new service offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Data modelling – design, create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Define and govern data modelling standards, design standards, tools and best practices (for senior) end of list
- Define metadata standards (and profiles) for datasets, including mapping from existing metadata important
- Define ETL pipelines (FME or similar) to ingest datasets into the models defined important
- Work in multi-disciplinary teams to resolve business issues and problems in a collaborative fashion
- Provide consultancy as data modelling expert
- Mentor more junior team members when needed
Skills and Experience
- Experience in UML Modelling to support Solution and System Design and Data Modelling. Primarily using Sparx Enterprise Architect, also Erwin and IBM Rational Tools (important)
- Experience in information management and exploitation with emphasis on the importance of metadata
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of tools, particularly Excel in support of data analysis
- Languages:
- Python and “R” in support of complex data analysis of large datasets

- The ability to obtain SC clearance
- A willingness to travel to various customer sites around the UK and our HQ or satellite offices
