MapLink Pro deployed in patrol aircraft used by Canadian Military

A maritime patrol aircraft, used by the Canadian Military, has integrated the use of Envitia’s high-performance MapLink Pro Web Map Servers.

Working with General Dynamics Missions Systems – Canada (GDMS-C), Envitia has provided mapping visualisations for the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities on-board the CP-140 Aurora.

The use of Envitia’s software development toolkit enables GDMS-C to bring crucial situational awareness abilities to the CP-140 Aurora in addition to it being a cost-effective solution.

The CP-140 Aurora maritime patrol aircraft is used by the Royal Canadian Air Force, and primarily operates on anti-submarine warfare, alongside maritime surveillance and search and rescue missions.

GDMS-C are working alongside the Canadian Government to modernise the fleet, which ensures ‘operational relevance’ of the CP-140 Aurora until its eventual retirement in 2030.

CEO of Envitia, Nabil Lodey, added: “We are delighted to provide our high-performance software development kits to world-class C4ISR platforms. We hope to continue to contribute to the success of this programme in the future.”
