THE Solution for PAI

Envitia’s MapRite product has been developed to tackle Positional Accuracy Improvement in OS data.  The technical facilities that are now incorporated within MapRite were originally developed to enable the Land Registry to correct the Index Layer to the Registered Titles for England and Wales.  This layer comprises roughly 20 million polygons, of which over half has been affected by the PAI program.  MapRite has subsequently been widely adopted by Local Authorities, where it is typically used to process all the GIS layers maintained by the Local Authority, typically these include Planning Applications, BLPUs, Street Furniture, Public Rights of Way and many more.  MapRite has also been adopted by the Ordnance Survey, where its extensive review facilities are used to assist OS staff in Quality Assurance tasks related to the PAI program.

Relationship Analysis - MapRite is unique in performing a full analysis of the relationships between the customer’s data and the pre-PAI mapping.  MapRite uses a sophisticated rule-driven algorithm to determine the most appropriate solution for each object when considered in relationship to the new, post-PAI mapping.  In this way it effectively duplicates the steps that would be taken by an expert user if he/she were to undertake the task manually. MapRite has the added advantage that it performs the task within a few hours,  a task that would take months to perform by hand. Using the MapRite automated approach means that the whole process is repeatable and has an associated automated audit trail for future reference.
