The research will be exploitable over the next 5-10 years and will identify opportunities for the rapid development and insertion of geospatial technology.
The scope of the research includes: an assessment of future defense requirements, in addition to undertaking a broad range of Geospatial research to support the MoD ISTAR domain, supporting delivery of the MoD’s Spatial Data Infrastructure.
“The Envitia led AGIS program will ensure that MoD stays at the vanguard of geospatial research” says James Prain – Dstl’s AGIS Project Manager. “The GEOCORE team has demonstrated its extensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities for the geospatial community and expertise to advance MoD geospatial capability.”
MoD, through Dstl, sought industry engagement to support the delivery of their GEOINF/GEOINT research, needing flexibility to evolve to changing MoD requirements. GEOCORE offers this flexibility bringing together the leading providers of GEOINT technology and research for MoD, with two of the UKs leading universities involved in geospatial research.
