1 Jun 2010

Envitia has been selected, by Northrop Grumman UK, to supply the Geographic Information and spatial data management components of the Joint Operations Center Command and Control for the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).

The prime contractor, Northrop Grumman UK, will supply an integrated Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) headquarters system and a deployable Joint Operations Center (JOC) together with the provision of training and in-country support to the Ministry Of Defense Of Brunei Darussalam.

The JOC will provide the RBAF with a facility that will deliver command and control capability for military commands and civil organizations at both national and international level, and will be interoperable with its NATO and ASEAN allies and coalition partners.

Envitia’s spatial data management components will form a key element of the JOC capability, providing the RBAF with leading edge GIS technology using OGC* standard web services, providing unrivalled performance and interoperability.  The Envitia Catalog Service will register all available Map Services for access by JOCS users and the Envitia WMS will ensure best performance in the display and manipulation of the combined datasets for the end users.  Using standard components ensures that the data can be readily shared and accessed from other systems.

Envitia will be working closely with Northrop Grumman UK to ensure that the Envitia geospatial services are closely integrated into the I-JOCS capability enabling the RBAF to utilise a wide range of geospatial and environmental information.
