CUTLAS-UTMC Web Forum

The TENET web site support area has recently been enhanced to facilitate the use of forums.   The new forum will enable users to communicate and share ideas, tips, scripts and general information and experiences amongst the CUTLAS user community. It will provide useful feedback to TENET in the way of suggestions, requirements and prioritisation to ensure that the ITS Division understand and plan any development to meet the needs of the users and the industry at large.

A new section to any web site takes considerable testing and also has to seek the views of the users who are ultimately going to use and benefit from the forum. The Chairman of the CUTLAS User Group (CUG), Darren Capes of City of York Council, has assisted TENET with testing the functionality and provided valuable feedback.

Darren commented, "The CUTLAS User Group will be of great benefit in helping users of TENET UTMC products get the most out of their systems. I am very pleased with the effort TENET has put into setting up the web forum to support the user group and believe this will play a crucial role in allowing users to exchange ideas and access support from the wider CUTLAS community"

CUTLAS provides the tools to gather, analyse and present data so that Traffic Manager’s can better understand what is affecting traffic flow at any given time.  CUTLAS also provides functions to help mitigate congestion and its consequences as part of a strategic response to traffic build-up.

The CUTLAS suite is fully compliant with the latest Government UTMC standards.  This means that CUTLAS can fully support Traffic Manager’s key priorities such as exchanging important data with neighbouring authorities and their systems, as well as ‘plug and play’ with other UTMC modules, such as journey time, incident / street-work locations, etc. displayed and disseminated to a wide range of stakeholders.
